Contactless Click & Collect

When you purchase a vehicle from us remotely, we can offer you a Contactless Click & Collect service from our dealership in Eastbourne. Our team will provide full details, but here’s a quick guide.

How does it work?

Our sales team will work with you remotely to purchase the vehicle, either outright or with finance, on the phone or via our website. When you’re ready for collection, your dedicated specialist will arrange a specific day and 1 hour time slot to suit you. You may be asked to bring specific documents for the transaction.

Arrival at our dealership

Please visit our dedicated Click & Collect area at the front of the showroom. You will see the vehicle you have purchased in front of this area waiting for you. Here you will find your dedicated specialist who will detail all the documentation and features of your new vehicle.

Your new or used vehicle

Prior to your arrival, your vehicle and the keys will have been cleaned thoroughly with anti-bacterial products. You will be the first person to open the vehicle since cleaning. Our specialist will point out the basic features at a distance and will be happy to video call you once you’re home to detail any other features of the car.

PPE and Social Distancing

Remaining at a 2 metre distance at all times, our team will remain behind a protective screen and will wear a face covering and gloves. Please also observe social distancing guidelines.

Your Part Exchange

If you’re part exchanging a vehicle please park it in the car park and hand the keys over to our dedicated specialist. They will then inspect your vehicle. You’re welcome to be with us whilst we’re viewing your vehicle, but please remain outside the vehicle and at least two metres distance.

Aftersales Departments Open Again

We are opening our Aftersales Departments again from 6am on Monday 11th May 2020.

Our EMC Service Teams in Eastbourne and Uckfield look forward to welcoming you. The new opening hours are from 6:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday.

Transport Emergency Service

Unfortunately our normal operations are closed, however for Key Workers, the vulnerable and our loyal customers we are offering a transport emergency service to keep you mobile.

We have a small team of volunteer mechanics available to assist with urgent vehicle repairs.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): MOT testing

New rules on MOT testing for light vehicles Due to the unfolding COVID-19 situation, cars and vans and motorcycles due their MOT from 30 March 2020 will have their MOT extended by 6 months.

This will continue until confirmed otherwise. This will allow vehicle owners to continue to be able to get to work where this absolutely cannot be done from home or do essential shopping.

Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition and drivers can be prosecuted if they drive an unsafe vehicle.

Key workers and essential personnel Update

For key workers and essential personnel only, if you have an urgent transport issue, please telephone our switchboard on 01323 720681 during our usual opening hours and we will endeavour to assist you.

Due to the new restrictions introduced to fight the Coronavirus outbreak, we will be closing our Sales departments in Eastbourne and Uckfield from 18.00 24th March and our Service departments from 17:30 Friday 27th March.

As a result of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention guidelines, we have received a number of requests from customers asking to test-drive vehicles from their home address. In order to oblige, we have introduced our Mobile Showroom services.

Please be assured that our team will be taking all the necessary and recommended precautions when they arrive at your home address at the agreed appointment time to demonstrate the vehicle of your choice.

We are using TUNAP (an anti-bacterial agent) added through every vehicles air-con or ventilation system to kill 99% of bacteria thanks to a process known as denaturation. In addition, our sales consultant will arrive wearing anti-bacterial gloves and using seat and steering wheel covers for additional protection.

Before and after EVERY test drive our vehicles will undergo a 15-minute sanitisation process that includes disinfecting all touch points including interior and exterior door handles, steering wheel, dashboard, seat belts and handbrake lever/buttons.

Our team have also been instructed to wash their hands before and after every test drive, and we have asked that they do not shake hands with any of our guests during this uncertain period.

We can all do our bit to help prevent the spread of the virus and we hope that by introducing these measures, you will be confident choosing EMC for your next car purchase or vehicle service.

We would like to reassure everyone that we are working hard to protect our visitors and staff during the current coronavirus situation.

We continue to closely monitor and follow government advice and remain open for business as usual although we fully appreciate that some customers may be reluctant to visit us in person.

Our sales teams are happy to offer a fully remote service and can send you comprehensive video footage and photos of any new, pre-registered or used vehicle you may be interested in purchasing. We are also able to complete purchase paperwork via email and telephone, then arrange delivery of your vehicle to you.

Our service team are offering free local collection and delivery of your vehicle for servicing and repairs.

We have introduced an enhanced cleaning regime to all public and staff areas, increasing the frequency with which we deep-clean door handles, light switches, hand rails and other touch points. We have instructed our staff to wash their hands frequently, use sanitisers where available and follow NHS guidelines, and we would ask our visitors to do the same.
